Well, he has had half a season in League Two, which is hardly childsplay. Chalobah was immense last night.

Won't make a difference, as midfield (& defence, and goalie) aren't the problem.

Agreed why not? My only doubts with him are from a physique perspective.

Why? He's been building himself up with nightly visits to this place...

The problem runs throughout the team.
Yes, there's been a couple of great performances this season. A few outstanding individuals. But, on the whole, things aren't right. We've spent wildly and inefficiently over the last few seasons. Poyet seems unsure of his preferred 11 or tactics.
Now, it might well be that we are going to spend 6mil on Austin and he will single handedly rescue our season. Perhaps. But unlikely.

So we need to work something out. And for me one of the easiest solutions is to pick players who actually want the ball. JFC always will, and should be considered ahead of Crofts and Hammond because of this. Too many square pegs at the moment.

JFC would be a breath of fresh air certainly. I'd rather see him, Orlandi and Brudcutt in the middle of the park than the overly defensive Bridcutt, Hammond and Crofts. A creative, pacey midfield and a proven striker could make a huge difference to our season IMO

looks like a really bright prospect, maybe we should introduce fresh blood into the team line up as they will have the passion to play. Get adgestein and barnes in together or ad and hoskins, i mean if that wouldn't suprise the opposition i dont know what will.

would not be surprised if he gets some time against newcastle, and scores with a lovely timed run to the near post,as opposed to waiting at the back post for the ball to clear the two giant centre halfs then acting all surprised and falling over.

If JFC was a better player than we already have get him in but surely he is behind our current midfielders. I agree he needs an opportunity but not quiet yet.

We need some flair in the middle of the park and JFC is not the answer this season.

He needs a regular run in a Division One side on loan not sitting on the bench at Oxford.

I really think this highlights the clubs need to obtain a higher status in Developement football and have our kids playing against the best kids in the country, I hate to say it but like the Palace....
