With Mourinho and Alladyce and now seemingly O'Neill ruling themselves out of the running for the Engalnd job there is a clear lack of any good managers out there. The FA must follwo the example set by Ebbsfleet and put the fans in charge.

Before each match they could set-up a premium rate phone line with options such as "press 1 for Paul Robinson, press 2 for David James" etc. Leaving Phil Neville to be voted off in an X Factor type way. It could be a real money spinner for them.

Each game could also have a guest manager on the touchline like Have I Got News For You. One match could have Jeremy Clarkson on the touchline and maybe Stephen Fry the next, it would certainly add some entertainment to the proceedings.

Finally all the fans that actually go to the games should get a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire style set off buttons so that they can vote on substitutions during the game "Ok 88% think Frank Lampard should be substituted, 6% Joe Cole, 4%Gareth Barry and 2% Gordon Ramsay".

It's a winner I tells you.

Any other alternative ideas out there?

But the public are idiots. Eventually, we'd end up with Ant and Dec up front, and Leona Lewis in goal.

Couldn't be any worse than Robinson or Carson.
