Just £6M in debt and Chelski have spent £100M on players in the last 2 months.

Makes you realise the size of the gulf between the haves and the have nots.

Surely the Premiership clubs could have a whip round to save the oldest professional club in the world. After all it's only small change each for them (£300,000 - less than the WEEKLY wage bill for most).

In a way it's good that this is happening to Notts Cty because it has been happening to a number of clubs,as we all know, and there is no way the FA/League/authorities will allow the oldest club in the world to go under.

It will be national humiliation if it does, and will really wake people up to what is happening.

The very same, yes.

But Oldham only entered Administration a couple of weeks ago and, if the League is consistent, they'll be allowed to stumble on.

The brown stuff will hit the whirly thing if County go under.

Like there was no way the football authorities would allow the demolition of Wembley without the certainty that a replacement would quickly be in place?

Good point but Wembley was a dump and needed knocking down replacement or not.

It had already become embarrasing

I'm quite sure they will save themselves at the last moment.

I know I will be surprised one day, but at the moment there just seem to be a lot of clubs "on the brink" getting a "bumper crowd" for potentially their "last ever game" and then saving themselves at the "11th hour". A case of crying wolf a little bit, and the club that really is going out of business with suffer because of the apathy people like me are getting.

I remember a "last ever Brighton game" one Saturday. The winding up order was up in court on the Tuesday. Despite all the directors being out of the country on holiday (hmm, they seemed worried then) we saved ourselves at the "11th hour." Lets face it, the rescue package had been in place for days, but they tugged at the heartstrings for the bumper Saturday crowd.

Easy10, if you are reading this and chuckling, YES, your cynicism has finally rubbed off on me.

I think people are getting complacent cos so many clubs have come back from the brink in recent times. I won't be surprised if we lose a league club this season.

Sadly possible Voroshilov, there are more than a couple sailing very close to the wind. It is slightly ironic that most of the teams near the top of the Conference have league experience and are doing very well for themselves.

OBVIOUSLY NO-ONE WANTS IT TO HAPPEN, BUT PERHAPS IF ONE CLUB WERE TO GO, THE OTHERS MIGHT THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING INTO ADMINISTRATION. THEY MIGHT EVEN HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH THEIR FINANCES AND TAKE THE ROUGH WITH THE SMOOTH LIKE US!
