He looked gutted to be taken off - I think the substitution was a mixture of protecting his injury but also tactical. Almost backfired when we needed to get a goal, but I think he will be OK.

Had Leon not been taken off would Virgs have got the legendary goal???? Great move in my books by M.M and he is now fit and ready for Cardiff!

what absolute codswallop . . . .

Brighton's manager Mark McGhee admitted : "I'm speechless because we've been absolutely hammered. We have to be the luckiest team on the planet."

now for your manager to admit that one would have thought he might try to do something about it, we'll get humiliated in Cardiff if he doesnt ! until the second period in extra time we where absolutely disgraceful

Leon was appaling last night, totally lacklustre display and I just hope he was embarrased by the commitment shown by Gary Hart!

I wonder if McGhee wanted to sub him, but wasn't quite brave enough to do it for tactical reasons. The injury gave him the perfect excuse.

Some players think that they only have to turn up to play.If our next match wasn't so crucial Mark should consider dropping Knight for Hart. In fact maybe it would be a good wake up call to him to do it anyway.

I sincerely hope he is injured and cannot be considered for Cardiff.

That way there will be no temptation for McGhee to pick him and we can have someone up front with big Chris who gives a shit.

OGH or even McPhee or maybe play 4-3-3 with Piercy up there as well.

Based on his recent performances Leon just does not warrant a place in the starting line-up.

He seemed to be saying 'Why ?? I'm OK... then fuuck!' when he was taken off. I think it was an opportune moment for MM to pull him off.

It does throw up a puzzle for the final - I would like to see Hart and Piercy starting, but that's not going to be easy to accomodate.

I would bet on the same starting 11 - and similar substitutions.

The way he was jumping around in the dressing room after the game would suggest his injury has cleared up nicely. It did look a nasty tackle but he does like to make the most of the chance to sit on his arse.

agree entirely...

Leons determination seems to have ebbed - also he really isn't strong enough to stay on the ball when we need it...

And what really pisses me off is the number of times per game that he falls down injured after a tackle and then after some brief treatment gets up and carries on.

Either you're effing injured ... in which case, OK, you need treatment ...

Or ... you've had a bit of a knock, but nothing too bad ... in which case get up and effing play on.

For that and his apparent lack of effort (most of the time) Leon will never be a fans' favourite at Brighton.

Agree with that. The only time we looked like getting a goal was when OGH replaced Leon Knight

He did look lacklustre, except ironically, when making the tackle that got him injured. I thought it was a fantastic tackle just as the bloke was shooting.

I don't think it was a bad tackle by the Swindon guy, he was swinging his leg forward to strike the ball, but Knight tackled it away, replacing the ball with his own calf.
