Looked interested and hungry all the game. Chased everything, including running all the way back into our own half to break down their attack when one of our corners went wrong. Nice little clever touches and fought like a lion when receiving the ball and then finding himself isolated. Finished the whole thing off with a great well deserved goal and rightfully awarded the MOM award.
Maybe those games on the bench have made him realise that he needs to fight consistently to make the team.
Only question is.........is he performing to get a better contract with us or to advertise his talents to other teams? Either way, when he plays like he did today it can only be beneficial to our Championship survival hopes.

Leon is our most talented player and worked his socks of today, like he has been for most of the season.

He is the key to us staying up.

If we get the ball into his feet and let him run at people he will scare the shit out of defences.

He's been playing like this for some time, just hasn't scored with it.

I wish he'd scored that lob though :smokin:

Quite right - his work-rate was exceptional today, him and Virgs working their socks off up there late on really made a difference. He looked dangerous all game, but seemed to look a bit lost when he got a half-chance. However, when a chance came that had to be taken first-time, he stuck it awy instinctively, then almost got goal of the season with that chip from 40 yards.

Hopefully that'll give him the confidence to not worry so much about chances, and just stick them away without thinking.

Yeah, that would have been a great goal. Brilliant to see the fans getting behind him again, I'm sure that spurred him on.

Great reaction from the crowd at QPR to the stick he was getting from the home fans.

Leon has always been cheered by us away. Ipswich he made all the difference. It is only at home that they still do not seem to understand that he is still our only player that scares their defence and as he is often picked up by more than one creates space for others to exploit.

agree with that

Maybe McGhee has been good for him as he worked like Virgo today. Still goes down a bit too often but run his socks off and looked our best player. Thought Virgo looked excellent again. And Harding looked good in midfield. That is where I would play him as I don't think he has the positional sense to play left back but what do I know?

His parents were there, I don't know if they usually are, but I saw him celebrating after the game with them.

Get them a pair of season tickets then !

That would have been goal of the season for me if it had gone in.

Great vision
