Leon Knight; the best player in the Championship

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

The player is quality, turns defenders inside out.

Unfortunately there are attackers who get endless chants from their fans (like that donkey Akinbiyi who managed to score against us last week) who are way inferior in skills.

For those that remember, Ward was played out of position (asked to defend, forfuxsake) and the goals dried up. (Maybank was preferred - a completely talentless stiff that cost loads!). Now Leon is running into the wing more often than the area, and asked to supply crosses.
His talent is wasted on deep positioning, or hopeful lobs into a crowd of defenders while NOBODY distracts them or opens gaps for Leon to run into ....or gives a decent ball into space.

I really hope we see some support for this player, from the fans and from the manager - and before we have to watch him doing it every week for another team.

I agree with that.

I rate him highly and think he is amongst the top 10 players in the championship.

Probably the most selfish player to play for us I have seen.

Maybe he can be accused of going down a little easy at times, getting in a strop and losing interest when he's not involved or getting decent service but I don't think you can accuse him of being a selfish player. Much of his best work is creating openings with his skill and then passing to other players. He makes some fantastic layoffs with his first touch but is often one step ahead of his fellow strikers and attacking midfielders. He doesn't always shoot on site if there is someone else better positioned and when played out of position he gets on with the job without drifting in and doing his own thing.

Selfish player, you're 'aving a larf mate.

He is one of the trickiest, most skilful players I have ever watched. If we were to start giving him good service, he would bang them in.

As for being moody, stroppy and going over too easily. Yes, you could level that accusation t him in the past, but now, no way. The last 6-8 weeks, he's been working his nuts off.

I really hope for him, he nicks a goal soon, as I think that would really help his confidence.

Agree entirely with that, he's worked hard on his all round game and attitude lately but it seems as with Refs (who really should know better) the reputation has stayed with him with some fans who refuse to give him any credit.

Leon Knight, the best player in the Championship. His scoring record at this level is simply outstanding:

QPR: Played 11, Goals 0
Sheffield Wednesday: Played 24, Goals 3
Brighton: Played 20, Goals 2

Total: Played 55, Goals 5

Phenomenal.....
