If the atmosphere is sterile in a half-empty Falmer where a no-standing policy is strictly enforced all over the stadium, then our move there could very quickly turn into an enormous anti-climax.

It's the inevitable consequence of all-seaters, coupled with the fact that we're no longer allowed to decide for ourselves what constitutes safe and what doesn't. We're clearly all too juvenile and can't be trusted.

This, and the "I've injured myself, therefore I MUST sue someone" culture that has emerged in the last few years. Every organisation now has to be seen to be doing as much as is humanly possible to prevent anyone getting injured or in the slightest bit hurt anywhere, for fear of getting slapped with a lawsuit. Its "Health & Safety" just running riot now.

Hence a bag of peanuts carrying the sign: "Warning - may contain nuts".

Deeply, deeply depressing.
