Mayo lives in Peacehaven. Why doesn't he play for them?

Simple. He is a decent defender.

Can I remind people that not long ago there was big talk of 'when we play our first game at Falmer...', it was Brighton v Doncaster for Kerry Mayo's testimonial. Hooray, marvellous scenes etc.

Along comes an inexperienced spotty poser who plays like a rabbit caught in the headlights (as if Brighton fans have ever accepted such poor quality from a full-back), and the original Ginger Prince is pilloried. Unbelievable.

Mayo's fall from grace from some quarters on this board beggars belief. You don't play over 250 matches for your club by being shit, especially when there has always been competition for your place.

I wonder who would fetch the most in an auction? Mayo or Harding? No need to answer that really.

Yay for Alan.

I like Mayo. He's ginger and a left back like me.

Hang on! Maybe I could play for the Brighton?

Both.

Its a long season and neither will be able to play all the games. Harding might be the better talent but has still a lot to learn. Mayo is a bit slow and probably not match fit anyway but knows his trade well and iirc he done very well 2 seasons ago.

True. Peter Taylor said when interviewed about Harding that he is keeping a very good left back out of the team so he rates him.

Mayo was runner up to player of the season whilst we were in this division last time. He has had a run of poor form but usually when he is dropped he comes back better than ever.

Harding looked pretty good when playing for the under 21's (confidence boosted?) but is having a poor run with the Albion.

Why not interchange them? The competition for a place will sharpen them both up.

Mayo far too slow... has to be Harding at this level, and here's hoping he cuts out the too frequent errors of the last few games...

Tough choice at the moment, but I would probably say Harding should keep his place in the team.
