If you haven't got assetts (such as the ground) then you don't go into administration, you go into liquidation.

That's it then finished kaput.

Just found out from work colleague Leeds Utd are in fact worth 10mil, the ground is in fact owned by the parent company and not Leeds Utd. This means anyone willing to buy the club will get the club for £0.00 but will also be taking on their debts of £80 mil.

"OH DEAR OH ME..!"

I heard from someone that apparently Leeds "mortgaged" the potential transfer fees on their players when transfer fees were at an all time high, and they now have "negative equity" on these players. This, is why they are still paying £500,000 a year on Robbie Fowler, being the interest and capital repayments on the money that they borrowed over and above what they got for him when he went to Man City.

Oh deary deary me.

Leeds problems in a nutshell, as reported in The Guardian a few weeks back...

Seth Johnson was on £5K/week at Derby. This doubled to £10K when he made a single appearance (as sub) for England (he hasn't made one since).

Leeds came in for him, with Peter Ridsdale meeting Johnson and his agent.

"We'll give you £30K a week," said Ridsdale.

Johnson and his agent looked at each other aghast - it was way more than they were expecting.

"Okay, £33K a week", added Ridsdale, "but, don't f*** me about, that's my final offer."

Needless to day, the agent bit his hand off.

So Leeds signed an average player for a £7m transfer fee (rising to £9m based on appearances) and - gulp - £1.7m a year for FIVE years...
