Not having a manager at the end of a season must make retaining or signing players a bit hit and miss. How does anyone know who he'd like to have retained once we get around to signing one? Oh hang on it's not anything to do with the manager/coach anyway is it
There is nothing new here is there ?
We know he is good enough to play at this level and quite possibly higher, but we also know that he came to us after a long injury lay off and that we have not got nearly enough game time out of him.
It is quite possible he will go to one of our rivals and have a fantastic season, but it still doesn't make it a bad decision that we let him go. There must also be the possibility that he will get one more injury and will be forced to retire. Without insight and detail on his medical history, we can only speculate, my guess is that his injury record and age, hint at deeper problems.
