I think you are - infamous bank holiday fixture in Bournemouth where Leeds ran riot and literally took over the town.

Not good days for football. :nono: :nono:

That's right, I remember that, Leeds have been on good behaviour notice from the FA ever since!!!

It always amusing to see fans crying when their team gets relegated, especially from the Premier League. Perhaps it's because they are suddenly faced with the reality of football - nothing lasts forever. I guess relegation just doesn't faze me, having seen the Albion relegated fours times (and promoted three) since I've been watching them (relegated first season I watched them with the likes of Wilson, Saunders, Penney, Connor, Keown and O'Reilly in the team!!!) Can you imagine the tears if Arsenal got relegated? North London would be flooded!!!!!

I remember one of the fanzines having a 'good riddance' page when they went up.
I spent a few years living in Leeds in the early 90s, went to 2 home games which was enough to develop a huge dislike for the club/ fans.

Game 1:Sustained chants about Munich
Against Man U - nasty - left early

Game 2: As they close in on the title, chants about Munich
Against Villa - nasty, really nasty - left very, very early

I also walked out of the western terrace at the Headingly test that year, utterly disgusted. Oswald Mosely would have been shaking his head.

After a lot of persuading I've been back for the cricket twice in recent years and things have improved but it would need a very good reason for me to go to Elland Road again.

Next season would do!

The one person I do feel sorry for is Alan Smith - I don't think he's that special as a player, but he loves the club and from what I've been told by the locals he want's to stay and try to help bring them back up.
A one club player of any kind of qualtiy is a rare thing these days, Tony Adams, Steve Bull (Ryan Giggs and Ray Parlour - maybe) and I think Smith would have wanted to do the same - but now he's an asset to be flogged of by people who gambled with credit that the club would stay up - they took it over as a buying and selling club, not an ongoing concern.

A lot of nasty fans, a lot of nasty buisness; hope we play 'em next seaon - but not on a Bank Holiday weekend down here - Does that make me a NIMBY?

The chants about Munich have always been a part of the Leeds repertoire.

Why feel sorry for Alan Smith? He's going to leave Leeds United feel happy for him. Now maybe he can get on with the career his talent deserves.
