Now let me see you lot. You're in your 40's or 50's. Hair thinning, looks fading. You're kids are just getting interested in the opposite sex. You boast to them about your past conquests although when you leave the room they go "UURRGH". Classic symptoms for learning the guitar I'm afraid.

Thankfully I still have My own teeth :D and a full head of hair :afro: although some signs of grey  ............ Your probabally right though.

I learned years ago but only rhythm no lead, I picked a song i liked (live forever oasis)with a few basic chords and practiced until I had learned it off by heart rhythm and chord shapes, then picked another song with same chords and a few extra and slowly picked up more and more chords with each song I learned hope this helps

My son started learning when he was 10 - he had four years of one to one lessons - then went to rock school - played a few gigs down the Concorde club - then gave up due to exams - but always tends to pick up his guitar and have a play when he's stressed out or has something on his mind - I'm really glad we invested in lessons as now it's something that he can pick up and do whenever and he has the ability to listen to a song and then just play it on the guitar!

Also, he reckons the birds love it - so that's a result he says

Just look at chord diagrams and play with it a bit. It helps of you have a bit of rhythm but you will get it if you don't now. I can't play the guitar but every now and then I pick up my guitar to learn a song if I think it will sound better on that then on my uke and I it doesn't normally take long just to learn some basic chords.
