Don’t buy a new one! Plenty for sale on FB marketplace £10-30. Most , which can't handle anuof the time people think they’re a good idea but don’t end up using them, so plenty of sale secondhand.
Yes, shortly to add mine to those - just too bloody heavy. It also has a 'suck and shred' function, but anything bigger than leaves (hedge trimmings, for instance) and it's jammed in seconds.

I have something far better than a leaf blower. You only have to go over it once, it picks all the leaves up, chops them and puts them into a container ready for mulching or composting, and it takes up far less room in the shed.

It's called a lawnmower and it has higher settings perfect for this purpose when the grass doesn't need cutting

Maybe not for a driveway though

I don't get leaf blowers. If you have an irritating collection of leaves discarded by flora, littering your garden, surely the last thing you need is something that will disperse them to every corner of said garden. What you really need is a leaf sucker, but that's just a vacuum cleaner, so just get a broom.

Depends on use….oh and they aren’t exclusive to leaves

I think you might be doing it wrong if that's what's happening to you.

Pro-tip: start at one end of your yard and slowly work back and forth pushing the leaves forward until they are all (mostly) collected in at one side.

I bought my Sthil (battery powered) blower 5 years plus ago second hand from a garden machinery outlet….it had previously been used as part of their hire fleet …..gets used almost daily and still working well
I also use a Stihl battery operated blower daily and as a professional gardener I could not live without one.

Get a rake you lazy bum.
Then hit anyone using a leaf blower with it.
You could play the longer game and wait to see if they die of psittacosis which seems to be the industrial disease of leaf blower operatives but that could be too slow.

Definitely go battery, and just a blower - I bought one of these a few years ago and love it:

We have a huge lime tree that sheds its leaves on our lawn, steps, flower beds and a gravel path in our back garden, as well as leave from the woodland in front of our house which end up on my driveway. My old wired electric blower-cum-sucker weighed a ton, got tangled and also sucked up half the gravel, which shredded then its own shredder. Plus it was a pain to keep emptying the bag and swapping the attachments.

So, now I just do little and often - blow all the leaves into a corner and pick them up by hand, finishing with a brush and pan if necessary. Quick and easy.
