Out of curiosity why are leaf blowers environmentally unfriendly

ps wouldn’t a broom be better than a brush?
Broom / brush all good.

Petrol (fossil fuel) powered leaf blower not good.

I've got the dewalt battery blower. It's powerful and lightweight and lasts about 15-20 minutes on a full charge.

My friend's leaf blower has decided to stop working over the weekend and is seeking to buy a new one

Any recommendations?
Don’t buy a new one! Plenty for sale on FB marketplace £10-30. Most of the time people think they’re a good idea but don’t end up using them, so plenty of sale secondhand.

Yep, bought one, used it two / three times at most, and it's not been out of the shed since.

I bought my Sthil (battery powered) blower 5 years plus ago second hand from a garden machinery outlet….it had previously been used as part of their hire fleet …..gets used almost daily and still working well

F'king hate the f'king things. Every weekend an army of people come out and use them on their gardens. Noisier than a passenger plane, then the wind blows them all back again !!!!!! I rake leaves up and compost, much more civilised.

Don't tell Cate Blanchett you're about to get one..

So OzMike is Cate B….who would have thought it 😉

Bloke opposite us uses one virtually EVERY NIGHT for a few weeks (flowering shrub on his lawn drops petals)……..always around 7/8pm. It’s a petrol-powered monster and so loud.

I’ve got an electric one, probably use it 3-4 times a year, particularly in autumn as the trees in the woods behind the house deposit loads of leaves which end up rotting on the patio if I don’t pick them up 🙄
