A sports journalist Albion supporting friend of mine is convinced that Laurent Blanc had a Paula Radcliffe style incident after scoring in the 1998 WC Final but has been unable to confirm said net/urine collision actually occurred. As much as I'm desperate to believe "c'est vrai" I have to say I have never heard of it and fear he may have dreamt it all after one too many bouteilles de vin rouge. I know NSC officially boasts more knowledge on this subject than any other football/bladder illness website in the known world so was wondering whether anyone could confirm. On first reading this might appear a trivial matter but let me assure you that the scribe in question takes his preparation at least as seriously as Freddie Flintoff and homesick Geordie timewaster Steve Harmison so is desperate to confirm as he intends to use several searingly witty references in a forthcoming article.

Your sport journalist mate should be sacked. Blanc missed the 98 final as he was sent off in the semi!!

Think he was probably confusing Blanc with Zidane who threw up just before taking a pen!! There's footage on You Tube I think.

Zidane (unless he's done it twice) threw up before taking the penalty in Portugal 2004 against........us if memory recalls.

Hats off for spotting this deliberate error which was thrown in to establish the credibility of anyone professing an opinion on the subject. Having cleared this hurdle successfully what else can you tell me of Monsieur Blanc's prostate issues?
