Absolutely amazing place you will have a great time. Be careful of the women though every single one of them is beautiful but they are all there to f*** you over!! Be careful as one of my mates came back with a very sore tongue.....!!!

I did see a funny story interviewing someome from the Latvian tourist office a few years back asking him what he though of British tourists on stag dos there. He basically said that stag dos from most countries were well behaved and brought money into the economy, but the only people they had a problem with were the Finnish and the Brits. Both were equally drunken and obnoxious but the brits he said were the only ones who felt the need to piss in the street. Made me laugh anyway.

presume you're flying into Riga. So go up the big church tower so you have something cultural to talk about when the wife/girlf/mum asks what you did. Booze is dirt cheap outside of the main tourist area/titty bars/brothels.
Party I was with stayed mainly to the slightly higher end of titty bar,where beer worked out about english prices. Essentially as places get cheaper its not the women getting rougher, its the punters and the doormen. Go somewhere cheap and act like a twunt you will get battered, more expensive places just firmly escorted away.
can't remember any specific places to go (was a few years back) but try and stay to the higher end and be polite to doormen - they know each other and the local mafia. Ask nicely and they'll point you in the right direction for anything.

Don't piss off the doormen at strip clubs or if your really unlucky you will get a gun pulled on you....... Not an enjoyable experience

I went there with Madame Cholet for the Eurovision Song Contest Final on the occassion when Gemini scored null point.

Beautiful historic city, really nice architecture including a statue of a cat on a roof. Full of quality bars and restaurants, bizzare in a Russian Restaurant they had chewing gum on the menu.

We went to Jurmala a short train journey to the coast, really nice beach.

With reference to strip bars and prostitutes, well I'm sure they are the same the whole world over and if your are lucky you won't catch a dose.
