Let’s not turn this into a you know what eh [emoji106] I wouldn’t have been that bothered back in 2016 if it had gone the other way.

But again, the quality of your life, and the chances afforded to you, wouldn’t have changed if the vote had gone the other way. Bit different with women’s, civil and gay rights don’t you think?

If you have children/grand children would you be fine with them being put in prison for protesting against something they believe in?

It very much depends on what they are protesting about doesn’t it? In a civilised society there are limits. Strikes me that there are too many people in this country who would like nothing more than an uncivilised one.

Subtle .... I'll give that. So you mean countries with non-white people ?

No I do not - I mean countries that are run more by dictatorships or govts put into power by corruption and vote rigging . I was thinking specifically some of the countries in South America and Russia and China .

Why are you so obsessed with trying to make everything colour related !

So we just give up a piece of our liberty. Maybe if the corupt lot that run the country could put us first on occasions then there wouldn't be protests?

I’m getting some strong “first they came for the socialists...” vibes on this thread. I find is quite disturbing how little some people care about the prospect of a fundamental human right being taken away. It’s the quintessential “I’m alright Jack” mentality that those in power rely on to shift us ever closer to some sort of Orwellian nightmare.

This a 1000 times..

Wake up for f*ck sake people.

Interesting, so your happy with the right to not protest? Would you let the government slowly turn you into a robot and be happy living in a world where you can’t make a mistake without it getting logged onto a system somewhere? They want control of people and this is the first step, frightening really in China facial recognition can determine class even from how people walk.

Exactly, and look how they have completely ****ed up the world with no ramifications.

It's lucky that we haven't had anything to protest about over the years.

If we had you would expect all Brighton fans to be seriously concerned about this bill.

I’m not sure anyone has the time but if you listed every protest in the last 100 years in the country it’s likely I wouldn’t be that bothered, and I’ll give you a good example, Im a well known Brexit voter in the Pit, if the government announced they were changing there mind, would I join in any protests, no I’d take it on the chin and crack on[emoji106]

So what football team would you have supported without a significant number of the protests 15-25 years ago :dunce:

Well apart from world wars ( I’m an ex servicemen before you use that one) in the last 100 years what has been successfully protested that changed the world that I live in , genuine question and happy to be educated[emoji106]

Gay rights.
It was 1928 before women over 21 were given the vote. Prior to that we had to be over 30.
