I have been given a laptop - its quite old and weighs a ton but it seems to be working ok - apart from the H, J, K and M keys.

I have taken the buttons off and had a look but there is no obvious reason for the keys not to work. The sensors and the pads are all in place.

Can anyone shed any light on what i could try to fix it myself please before I take it to a shop.

Thanks

Have you tried switching it off and on again?

Just don't type anything that contains the letters H, J, K or M.

Highly unlikely but it could be software, try changing the Keyboard to US then back to UK. However clearing the crud is your best bet.
