My dumbass brother is continuing to travel the world (Africa, Asia, now in South America) and therefore has lots of different region DVDs that he watches on his HP Compaq Presario laptop. However this will only let him change the region setting three times before locking on that region. Does anyone know a way to get round this?

Cheers.

Turn it off and on again (sorry, but it's the law that someone has to say it, so might as well get it out of the way :) )

I didnt think there was a way around this...isnt it something to do with a factory setting in the firmware of the drive itself

You bypass the firmware and access the disk as a block device, which is what VideoLAN does.
