 I am amazed at some of the disguting languge and comments from some of the supporters (so called) on this Forum.
I think NCS is a great debating platform for the fans, but when I read some of the comments on the thread relating to the Sussex MP's who didn't sign the EDM , I think the writings were apalling and I'm sure most fans would agree..
Didn't NCS get closed down last week for unacceptable comments?
What then does disgusting language and abuse do for our case, absolutely NOTHING,
remember the image of hooligan football fans, what now foulmouthed fans?
Please let's keep it reasonable..

I happen to know that the former Chief Executive of this football club used to bring his wife and young son to games at the old Goldstone Ground.

For much of the time, these occasions were characterised by a crowd of many thousands of people chanting the words "Bellotti is a WANKER".

Yet, week after week, the Chief Executive and his family continued to attend games, presumably unaffected by the language.

He was a senior member of a local authority, a youth worker, a former Member of Parliament and (presumably) a much respected citizen (otherwise he would never have been given this important position in the first place).

If language of this nature was acceptable in the presence of Mr Bellotti, I'm sure it is equally suitable for Messrs Soames, Bottomley and Loughton.

Absolutely, Keith. Spot on. But sadly we have quite a few KIDS on here who somehow think it is smart or provocative. My advice? Ignore them and they might grow up while no-one's looking.

Yes NSC was off line for a while but it was not CLOSED down, you make it sound as though it was forced into closing down and that is not so.
Swearing just ignore it, if you do not like it then do not go near my old mum jessus christ she makes me blush she can eff with the best of em.

I think Keith is more concerned about what kind of public face this presents at a time when we have to be hyper-sensitive. When we get Falmer, back to normal I expect, but in the meantime, as he says, some people should be a lot more conscious about how they are protraying us to the casual visitor who hasn't got used to this place.

Yeah, I think the language on NCS is f***ing terrible as well. :jester:

Safeway is f***ing WRONG as usual, have a look, all fairly tame stuff really, I think Matt Groening says flip at one point but that's about it.

Although I agree the language is a bit strong on here at times, it is no worse than that I might here down the pub, or at any football match around the country.

After all, this is called NORTH STAND chat, and not west stand seats polite banter!!

If you want NSC to present its public face, I give you the Stadium Yes campgain, the Flowers campaign, One F in Falmer, National Falmer Day, the REMF, its support for the 40 Notes Fund, the support for Darlington FC... do you want me to go on?

I think some swearing (though not to excess) is not necessarily a bad thing.

Freedom of speach means just that so I'm against any censorship. However I do agree with your concerns Keith, particularly when we're under the microscope as we are at the moment. In a free world we have a responsibilty to be self-regulating, so hopefully your comments will have hit home with some of the more flowery-mouthed posters on here.

Button it, Juanker.
