It was only a matter of time before someone unable to understand the complexities of Snooker posted in this thread. If you can't enjoy the grand old man of Snooker rolling back the clock and tonking one of the favourites for the title, then that's your problem. Personally, I'm finding this fantastic.

I don't understand the complexities of cricket, but good to watch at the County Ground or the village green on a summer's day.

I don't understand the complexities of baseball, but good to go to Wrigley Park for the incredible atmosphere.

Ditto American Football, Basketball and Hockey.

I don't understand the complexities of snooker, but .... but nothing.

It's great to see Graeme Dott getting back to the player he was four years ago when he was world champion. Had chronic battles with depression and i'd love to see him win the title again as he seems like such a nice guy.

Get in! The Nugget wins frame 16, and takes a 2 frame lead into the final session tomorrow. Legend indeed.

Higgins 7 (25) 9 Davis.

Some of the Snooker today is just fantastic. I'll be honest, I'd barely heard of Martin Gould before but here is playing absolutely fantastically against a player I personally consider one of the finest in the game at the moment, Neil Robertson.

And Gerard Greene giving my personal favourite a match in the final session yesterday was good to see aswell, because it shook Murphy up and it'll make him a better player in the next match, imo anyway. It wouldn't have done Murphy any good to win 10-2 I don't think, apart from a bit of a confidence boost. He was tested how he'll be tested when it comes to the later stages of the competition and I think he'll benefit from that in the long run.
Murphy for the title.

Martin Gould, former poker dealer and part-time debt collector, 'Solid Gould' is playing out of his skin against 'The Thunder from Down Under', Neil Robertson. As you rightly say, this World Championship is great entertainment... and we are only in the 2nd round!

Martin Gould seems very smug to me, and I like that! He's just casually strolling up to the table and smacking them in, it makes for fantastic TV!

I've never considered Murphy to be smug though, Durlston. I think the man is pure class, he looks the part and plays such a stylish game, he's why I don a waistcoat when I play at Rileys.

What's your highest break, Ninja Elephant? Mine's 62.

I've got a feeling Mark Allen could go very close to winning it. So much potential. I think he was about 20/1 at the start of the tournament.

I've only played 5 frames in total, to be fair. And all of them this calendar year!

I agree about Joe Allen, he looks to have a sound game, technically and he is a superb potter. I'm not convinced by his defensive play though, I think that might let him down. That's not a criticism though.

Solid Gould has just won a fantastic final frame - starting his break with two plants and a table length swerve!

Robertson 5 (25) 11 Gould

At the current rate of progress... 4 frames will take Robertson at least an hour and a half... and if it goes all the way, it could be 3 or more

I fancy Robertson (in multiple senses, but that's beside the point) to finish the job from here. Every time Dott pulls one frame back, Robertson stretches away again.

We were just saying how old Neil Robertson's wife/girlfriend looked... and it turned out to be his Mum

I normally stay up and watch the final every year. But having sat through the past few frames, I'm not sure I can be bothered this year.

It's great that these two got to the final, to mix things up a bit, but god it's poor snooker.
