I am quite surprised, as supporters of a club that prides itself* on tackling homophobia head on, that some of the language and slurs on this thread in particular, appear to go largely unchallenged.

Yes, I could just put the thread on ignore, but that wouldn't mean the posts aren't there, just that I wouldn't see them to be there...

*pun intended!
Parody account?

I can understand the 66% who didn't vote for them not being particularly impressed, but they seem to have dropped from 33.7% voters in the GE to just 16% support now. Quite strange.

Very depressing, isn't it?

Hard to be approving of a pathetic homosexual gimp who can't stem the tide of brown people flooding across The Channel, wants to destroy British farming and was comfortable with your impoverished Granny freezing to death next Winter...

need to kick on with building, lots of investment not happening there. also sort out the related energy strategy, a lot of investment could flow there too.

Their approach to planning and the environment has angered almost every nature, ecology, environment and conservation group in the country. Completely clueless. Millions of people now get weekly emails telling them how crap Labour is, for example from Sussex Wildlife Trust:
-----------

Planning & Infrastructure Bill - a disaster for nature

The UK Government promised to protect and restore nature. But less than a year in, new planning changes are set to weaken environmental protections for developments, such as house-building.

This is bad for wildlife and for people.

The Wildlife Trusts have tried to work with Ministers to highlight gaps for nature in the new Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Yet at every stage our efforts have been ignored. Enough is enough.

We’re tired of hearing the blame for slow development being placed on wildlife when evidence shows this just isn’t true.
----------

Lots of newspapers regulalrly reporting government failures and lunatic approach too.

Labour has a tiny membership compared to the Wildlife Trust, RSPB, NT, etc.. Even the Woodland trust has 66% more members. Millions are getting weekly messages informing of us government failings on many issues that are important to us. Then we are called blockers or the problem. I imagine a lot of dissent from non-reform voters. For the reasons above, and many more, I disapprove of this government and have no trust in them. That doesn't obligate me to nominate an alternative or justify any previous/future government. They have mastered the art of the contemptible and indefensible in my view and seemingly that of a large majority.

good, hopefully there's more going on than appears. the general voters will back Labour again if they see them grow the economy, and best chance of that is through building more housing and infrastructure. what's clueless is demanding net zero and not allowing anything built to deliver it.

It may be what you mean, but no one is going to be saying "GDP is up, and ahead of most of the G7, therefore Labour can have my vote."

People want to feel better off (which growth can help with), and if they feel better off they are more likely to vote for what they see as a winning formula.

I think that there are better ways of development that will respect the value of our environment and that the government is ignorant of them. I take hope though from their repeated U-turns when they piss off different groups of potential voters. I also think that there are better ways than building per se to promote economic growth rather than relying on the existing big building/infrastructure suppliers and their demmands which will negatively impact the lives of millions.

I don't understand your final sentence, no one is suggesting a moratorium on building/development. This isn't a binary choice, we need both.

Cheaper energy would be a good start, this can be achieved through reform of the energy market so that we aren't always paying the price for everything at the price of most expensive portion irrespective of the size of that portion, and recognising that net zero ideology is a luxury belief that is blocking pragmatic solutions to getting towards it's stated aims by encouraging importing resources rather than using our own supplies and discouraging investigation of cleaner and more efficient use of such.
