I really enjoy watching the Spanish Football. They don't give the ball away as cheaply as you see in the Premiership and they are technically superior.

The two games tonight were superb. Real Madrid went in at half time 1-0 down to Celta Vigo and were having a nightmare. 45 minutes later, after some brilliant football, they won 4-2 and went 8 points clear at the top of the league.

This game was followed by Deportivo La Coruna v Barcelona. Barca 2-0 up at half time and went 3-0 up shortly afterwards. Depor then scored twice to make it interesting and some classic comedy refereeing gave some more excitement at the end of the game, with Barca eventually hanging on

Brilliant stuff

I can't believe the way have Barcelona have turned things around recently. Away wins at Valencia and now Deportivo. It will certainly make the clash with Real Madrid more interesting.

Except that scene when the Depor guy called hauled down outside the box and the guy was sent off the players behaviour was disgusting. The commentators said the ref has lost the plot but what can you do when 22 grown adults act like petulant kids. Discraceful, and does their league a diseervice because as mentioned, its great football to watch.

So all in all Beckham did quite well then ! 2 assists, cant ask for much more.

In the first half, he was also the only player who looked like he was interested. The first time Ronaldo touched the ball was when he scored.

Beckham is playing really well. He might not be scoring from free kicks but his work in midfield is top notch

The Depo v Barca game left me breathless - astonishing pace combined with accuracy of passing, simply stunning.

But someone should have told them that Oscar nominations had already closed.

The 2nd Deportivo goal was a thing of beauty. Some marvellous slick passing to work the ball wide, a perfect ball in, and a fantastic diving header to guide the ball in off the far post. And what a splendid kit they wear, too.

What about the miss of the century when the ball was knocked over the bar from 2 yards. Unbelievable

it was almost unbelievable, i do remember Peter Ward doing the same thing one year when we played Grimsby in front of the North Stand.
