We came through two divisions with the best defensive record going. You don't do THAT without having a damn good keeper between the sticks who knows how to command his area and communicate with his defence.

FDM still had a lot to offer.

But it's strange that so many people have forgotten the excellent Ben Roberts.
I haven't - he was a brilliant keeper, way too good for us really, but we got him basically because he was a bit of a crock when it came to injuries, and fair play to Ben, we got a great three-quarters of a season out of him and without him, I don't think we would have got the opportunity to play Championship football over the last couple of years.

I'm hoping as a long shot that there might be a similar situation occur with GNW - also way too good for us, but will other clubs touch him with that arthritis he's got.

I do think people have rose coloured specs with Michel. He is a very good keeper but his distribution has landed us in trouble and he has made mistakes.

He was given several hints and warnings to sort out his kicking although I still think the Henderson money could have been spent elsewhere.

Seems strange to me how highly everyone rates Kuipers, sure he is a good keeper but as has been said other managers have prefered other keeper over Michel.

Roberts was a far better keeper than Kuipers and i believe Henderson is too. Sure he has made a few mistakes but is behind possibly our worst back four for years, is young and raw and also is under the 'NSC Kuipers is a god' microscope.

Playing Kuipers instead of Hendo would have made no difference to us going down, we have not been relegated due to a couple of mistakes by Henderson, we have been relegated due to our lack of goals, lack of cohesion in midfield and no proper full backs whatsoever.

In my opinion Henderson has made a couple of major errors....however in those games in question he has kept us in the game with terrific saves, not to mention the other saves he has made that Kuipers would not have got close to.... Preston at home springs to mind !!!

Henderson

How can you say Hendo's recent distribution has been any better than Kuipers? It has been very poor. He also hardly ever commands his area. And how many times has he cost us goals palming the ball back into play? I think more than 1 or 2 of those were definate errors. Ok you can't stop them all, but he has certainly cost us big time.

I'm not saying Michel was faultless, as that really would be taking the piss. But he filled me with me more confidence than ANY other keeper we've had since he's been here.

He is by far a better shot stopper than Hendo. Micky thought he was No 1 and i rate his opinion more than 2 bob managers like McGhee and Taylor.

However, Micky largely managed us in Div Three; which is much more Kuipers' level. At higher levels, managers have consistently chosen other keepers.
