Why? A keeper with poor kicking and throwing will cost you.

No. A keeper that can't do the fundamentals of his position will cost us goals. A keeper whose distribution is iffy will not cost us. It will mean that he can't be relied upon to start quick, breakaway moves, but ultimately on the list of qualities for a goalkeeper that is fairly low.

If needs be a defender can take the goal kicks, and when the keeper has it in his hands the full backs can drop back and pick up an easy throw.

A keeper that slices in to touch will cost you, its gives the other side a platform to attack.

Hence the second paragraph.

The argument is still valid. A keeper that cannot do the fundamentals but can kick well is more of a liability than a keeper who can do the fundamentals well but has dodgy distribution.

Anyway, appears to be a moot point if the thread about signing Henderson is true.

Thought Flo's distribution was top class yesterday, his throwing especially whereas kuipers looked very uncomfortable doing the same at Millwall.

Not sure about his allround ability to command the box and catch the ball at times tho so the sooner we get Henderson the better!

Although I wasn't at the game yesterday from what I hear Chaigneau wasn't too bad. Ok so he spilled a couple. FFS do not any of you remember Michel's first season at the club? He certainly spilled a few then and was known by some of my Albion supporting acquaintances as 'Dodgy' Kuipers (geddit?); and rightly so at the time!
