Err, so you believe that everyone who plays pro football has the devine right to 'retire' at 35 and never work again?

Unfortunately for people of my age, we are likely to still be paying our mortgage well into our 60s and working into our 70s. I'm not bitter, but like FDM, I am not on 150k a week.
No, a testimonial is an appreciation of 10 years work, at one club.
The fact there aren't that many shows what an achievement that is.

It's not FDM's fault that top flight footballers are super rich and can afford to wave the 'pennies' a testimonial generates away.

If, and I hope he does, FDM trousers HIS cash given in recognition for HIS hard work, I'd me more than happy for him, and not bleat on that he should give it to charity.

Whilst on the subject of FDM, looked like he was having a great day out with his family at the Jubilee celebrations on The Broadway Haywards Heath

Michel Kuipers was a magnificient player for this club, and a thoroughly decent bloke. He deserves every penny he gets.
If you're reading this Michel, then thankyou for everything you did for us.

Surely it could have been a match between Brighton and Crawley for the Kuipers Cup?

Very uninspiring opponents. Was seriously hoping for an Ajax match.

To be honest I'd happily pay money to see any old Albion game at our glorious home. Especially as by August it will have been THREE MONTHS without the Albion, pies, Harveys etc

I'd even be happy with a first team Vs development squad match with Kuipers in goal for either side and Gus and Tanno getting a cameo too.

Saved me typing more than seven words.

Good. Hope they enjoyed it. They're a smashing family and - IMHO, like - FDM would make an outsanding future ambassador for the club. He's a lovely guy!
