Kuipers by a country mile!!!

Roberts was looking well dodgy before he got injured and now looks even worse. OK the FDM made a mistake last week and his kicking isnt all that accurate but he saves far far more attempts on target than Roberts and that is the key attribute that wins mathces.

Marshy you have been banging on about Roberts all season, even though we clearly improved when he got injured, how many clean sheets did we keep? are you related to him?

Kuipers looked like he had cement on his feet for the first goal on Sat and his dreadful kick put us under pressure for the second goal. Didn't see Roberts mistake last night, but just think he marginally edges it because of his all round play.

At the end of the day though, I'm more than happy for us to line up with either, they are both among the best keepers in Division Two,

I can't understand for a minute how people can feel nervous with Kuipers in goal! As stated before he's one of the main reasons we won back to back titles. An incredible shot-stopper, I feel disappointed if I don't see at least one breath-taking save a game. The man probably won 20 points single-handed over the two promotion seasons, and he can only do the same again.

I'm not saying I don't like Roberts - he's a fine 'keeper, but to say Kuipers isn't up to it, because his kicking isn't perfect? Any posts stating that should be renamed "Joke du Jour" IMHO.

THE FACTS

Roberts

Played 7
Goals conceded 9

Kuipers

Played 11
Goals conceded 8 (4 of which were in ONE MATCH)

In my opinion that speaks for itself!!!

FDM for me.

The No 1 spot was there for the taking for Ben last night, and I think he fluffed it.

Both very good goalkeepers, but both struggling to live up to their previous standard at present.

For all round play, for me it's Kuipers my a country mile. Roberts has lost his confidence, and is a liability.

Cullip and Kuipers are much better communicators than Cullip and Roberts - you can tell that from the stands. Kicking is Kuipers' ONLY detriment, but even he would have known to larrup it into Row Z (or is it Robw C) last night.

Sorry, all the BR fans, Roberts DOES NOT have the trust of the defence in front of him.

I agree.
I think some people must be getting Roberts and Kuipers mixed up. It's the only explanation.

What game were you watching?:dunce:

The same one as you! Either you've misunderstood what I said or I didn't explain it very well! I did not say that he wasn't at fault for their goal - he certainly was. What I can't get my head round is the way some people are slating him because of that mistake. Just look at some of the riudiculously low marks some people gave him on the ratings. As I said in another thread. His overall performance should be taken into accpount not just the error that led to the goal. I think he did well for most of the match and I was much more comfortable with his command of the area and the fact that he didn't keep kicking the ball into touch or to the opposition as Kuipers is prone to do. I think both are good keepers - I just think some people were guilty of a knee jerk reaction yesterday because they were (jusifiably) unhappy with his error that led to the goal and had selective memories about his overall performance. It seems Kuipers has taken over from Zamora as the blue eyed boy!
