This is terrible news as Roberts was at fault for two of the goals yesterday and didn't look fit.

As Kneon Light said, I don't think it fair to blame him for any of the goals. I agree he looked a bit jittery yesterday and his distribution wasn't as good as it has been, but still better than Kuipers. I'm not surprised that he appeared somewhat lacking in confidence in view of the lack of cover by the defence. In any case, Kuipers contributed to costing us the previous two matches. They are both good keepers but, like the rest of the team at the moment, appear to be suffering from some kind of malaise.

FDM can hardly complain about being dropped, hes made a few howlers recently in front of a new manager

it would be dissapointing if he gets the hump and leaves rather than stay and fight for his place

you cant say roberts has got the No 1 slot secure

how can anyone blame roberts for any of yesterdays goals. If kuipers wonts to go because his been dropped instead of staying and fighting for his place then he can piss off we need players who show a bit of bottle at the moment instead of prima donnas who thick no matter what they do they will still get picked for every game

I can - for the first goal he was off his line way too fast. He actually run out of penalty area and had to stop and wait for the striker to arrive. The second one he seemed to dive on the spot rather than sideways. The 3rd he stood and watched and the 4th he seemed to be too far off his line. I haven't watched them on TV and probably won't but my impression in real time was that he was partially to blame for all 4 goals.

He seems to suffer from the Andy Petterson/Mark Cartwright disease of always being caught off his line...

The really annoying thing is that if Kuipers could kick we wouldn't be having this debate.

The other thing to consider is how many points will he win us with outstanding saves and how many will he will cost us for mistakes.

What is the greater number? Points won or points lost. Because he's in goal his errors are so costly. If Kuipers had made as many mistakes in goal this season as Jones has made on the pitch we would be relegated already.

I know Kuipers makes mistakes but I think he has far more good games than bad. And he always plays a lot better with a confident defence in front of him and that is certainly something we haven't got. When's Blackwell fit again?!

I really hope Kuipers stays as I would like to think he has a future at this club. Also, if he does leave I don’t really like the thought of Roberts and either a youth teamer (as he won’t have the experience and will make mistakes) or a premiership reserve when we really need to bring in another striker/midfielder/defender.

Kuipers is a far better goalie than Roberts, period.

Does this McGhee character have a clue about what he is doing ?. ???

Yesterday Roberts' kicking involved hoofing the ball straight to City's centre half. Is this what we want?

I like Roberts but think it would be crazy to get rid of Michel unless there is big money involved because he's the best shot stopper in Nationwide League football.

Roberts is a mercenary and is always injured. FDM is BHA thru and thru. If we get rid of FDM we'll be left with an inexperienced keeper because of ROberts' injury problems. We should just get rid of Roberts instead. Even though he's a good keeeper, it can't be good for the defence swapping keeeprs all the time. We need one keeper (Kuipers) and we should stick with that keeper. If Ben doesn't like that and can't accept being cover for Kuipers, then the northern ex-Prem primadonna should feck off.

He can only form opinions based on what he's seen since his arrival and by talking to the likes of Booker and to a lesser extent Coppout (maybe).

Kuipers was loaned out to Hull prior to his arrival which has probably suggested to McGhee that he wasn't first choice. Add to that the comedy show at Brentford (video) and Lincoln and it is easy to see why he's considering a possible move.

Sadly, Kuipers is not the Albion player of old that we all remember from those great seasons-if he was, Bob Booker would defend his corner for him wouldn't he?

My own thoughts are that neither of them are doing us any favours these days and if there was a decent goalie in the reserves/youth team they'd both be dropped-justifiably IMHO.
