Oh my. What a well contructed argument in defence of the messiah. The messiah who had loads of time to clear, yet struck it straight at the on-coming striker. He who slipped (yes slipped a-la Henderson - but on a dry pitch, not one that had been pissed down on for hours). Isn't it amazing what blind-love can do for some pople. Totally blind them to the obvioius. Oh well, the rose-tinted glasses may fall off at some time.

Maybe FDM is a lucky keeper, just like Dick Knight is one jammy bastid of a chairman. What's to knock?

This is getting f***ing ridiculous.

Every little mistake Hendo made, the Kuipers fans are all over this board like a rash saying how shit he is. Every little mistake Kuipers makes, the Hendo fans are all over this board like a rash saying how shit he is. ITS BORING AS HELL.

Fact is, they are both decent lower division keepers who have both had good, bad and indifferent games for the Albion. If every decent save, dodgy punch, slip-up and misunderstanding is going to be examined under a microscope and presented as "evidence" for or against either of them, then these boring f***ing threads will never end.

Some of you, no doubt, are just CREAMING yourselves every week for Kuipers to f*** up, just so you can come on here all smug and start yet another "SEE SEE I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU DIDN'T I TELL YOU ?, WE SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH HENDO WE SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH HENDO, SEE I TOLD YOU, SEE ?" blah blah blah thread. Well bollocks, stick it up your arse. Kuipers has the shirt, he WANTS to play for the club, he's kept 3 clean sheets in a row and we has a decent young understudy in Sullivan who can learn a hell of a lot off a good, experienced pro like Michel.

Hendo is history, start dealing with it.

See, I can't agree with that. Henderson wasn't "worse than useless" at all. He went through a dip in form, but he's a reasonable keeper for this level and will get better with age and experience.

This is half the problem - people seem to polarise their opinions of Kuipers and Henderson to ridiculous extremes - they're either "utter shit" or "complete legends", there's never any middle ground.

If Hendo had a better attitude I'd be more than happy to have him and Kuipers battling for the shirt, as they're BOTH good keepers. Unfortunately Hendo doesn't take kindly to having to fight for his place in the team, so its best for all concerned that he went. But I regret him going, he could've been good for us.

And    again.

Easy 10 - I don't think it is so much Hendo fans but there is a mentality amongst some fans who will not support anyone but Kuipers. We could sign Paul Robinson or even Buffon to play in goal (or at least DK will say he tried to sign them:D ) and fans would still not be happy that it isn't FDM.

I'd be creaming myself if we signed Buffon.

My solution in the summer is to get rid of Kuipers and buy a new keeper so the Kuipers vs every other keeper debate, goes away!

But hang on that would mean NSC having an influence on team selection. On second thoughts not a good idea!

Unbelievable! He wasn't great, but he hasn't let a goal in since he has been back in the team. Three clean sheets under his guidance, compared to three MONTHS without one with the Irish idiot in goal. That't NOT a coincidence. How people can complain about him after a 0-0 draw is just astonishing. At least people were on Henderson's back after he conceded goals!

I think a number of people felt backed into a corner to defend Henderson, perhaps more than they ideally would have liked, due to the somewhat one-eyed view of the FDM is Messiah brigage.

People are entitled to be unhappy (although I thought the booing and 'dodgy keeper' chants were OTT) at what happened at Bournemouth, but to criticise him for saving a penalty but allowing the opposition to score from the rebound, and the Byfield goal against Millwall when he was let down by the men in front of him, indicates that a significant people took pleasure in every mistake he made.

This overreaction led to a polarisation and entrenchment of views, and on the internet, no one ever admits to being wrong do they.

Henderson came here for first team football, had some good games and some indifferent ones, and an over inflated sense of his ability and a persecution complex. Some of the persecution complex may be justified, as FDM is very friendly with the Blooms.

FDM is a good shot stopper, much louder, a more engaging personality, appalling at distribution and somewhat injury prone.

He has been given his chance and three clean sheets on the bounce cannot be argued against, even though in two of them he did not have a worthwhile save to make.

He is going to be our keeper for the rest of the season, as Blayney is too busy taking the empties back to his local Oddbins to play for us, so let's get behind him as best we can.

So I was right when I saw a bald headed man with a Derry accent carrying 27 bottles of Gordon's, 17 Glenmorangie, and 3 crates of WKD back to the local Oddbins then!
