Roberts goalkeeping coach reputation still living off that one good season from David Stockdale I see.

We had one of the best young keepers in Europe who was going to be Spain's no 1 for the next decade, but for one weakness that was highlighted very early on and then again and again and finally resulted in him being dropped for a keeper who could actually play football with his feet. 'His' goalkeeping coach seemed to be unable to address it in the five years he was here and after another 3 years on at another club still can't. When was he last selected in a Spain squad ?

Bar Brian McKenna, it is curious that we have never ever had a top class keeper.
Over the past ten years alone we’ve had top class in pretty much every other position.
There remains a lot of room for improvement in the goalkeeper department, as was the case when these two fellas arrived. Good luck to them.

I think we've potentially had one and now have another. Maybe Fab has seen this and don't want them wasted the same way. Obviously not the same weaknesses.

He was in the Spain squads for the September, October and November 2024 internationals. His first call ups since March 2023.

In November he was a half time sub in the Nations League game against Switzerland and let in a penalty taken by his former Albion team mate Andi Zeqiri.

He wasn’t called up for the March 2025 internationals and is also missing from their squad for the upcoming games later this month.

After four incredible seasons at Brighton, the time has come for a change.

The experience of working for my hometown club in the Premier League is one l will always be incredibly grateful and thankful for.

To have been part of making history; helping the club reach the highest placed Premier League finishes for four years in a row, qualifying for Europe for the first time ever and regularly competing with and beating some of the biggest clubs in England and Europe will always be an immense source of pride and achievement.

I'm also so proud of the group of goalkeepers I leave behind and the strength and depth we have in that area.

Brighton has a collection of some of the most exciting young goalkeepers in Europe, the future is extremely bright.

Brighton is a great club full of brilliant people. There are so many of the clubs players and staff that I want to thank for being part of so many wonderful memories and experiences.

Working under Tony Bloom, Paul Barber, David Weir and managers such as Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi and their coaching staffs has given me incredible knowledge and insight into football at the very highest level. I also had the pleasure of working with Fabian as he experienced his first year as a Premier League head coach. I leave the club as a better person, coach and professional than when i arrived.

I wish nothing but the best for the club I have supported since I was a boy. the future is so exciting for Brighton and the best is surely still to come!

John Keeley was my favourite player when I was mascot against Wolves in the 89/90 season. I remember taking penalties against him in the warm up in front of the North Stand at the Goldstone Ground.

Or, alternatively, he didn't want to lump Fab into the first group, but put something separate about the current manager. If he wanted to make a negative point about FH, I dount he would have described the experience as a 'pleasure'. He just would've written something more bland.

Pretty obvious he's talking about the current boss – no need for the surname, IMO.

I wonder if the simplest answer here might be the truth. Knoop, as per the statement wanted to return to Germany, and Jack got offered a new job elsewhere.

Indeed. Rather than being a victim of our ruthless drive for perfection, maybe he's leaving because he got offered a better job?
