Letting Marco go, in particular, suggests somewhat of a ruthless streak, does it not?

I have no idea but did he face as many one on ones as Bart? We were very open especially earlier in the season. Lack of pace in defence given the way we play now has been a big problem imo,
No clue - not sure where to find that information but the point is there are keepers in the league with a worse xGC and better save percentage than Bart. I’m sure they would point to issues with the defenders in front of them as well but their job is to stop shots regardless of who is to blame for the chances.

Verbruggen….bad?
really
Yes. Fotmob has his save percentage as the second worst of any keeper in the entire Premier League . He is level for goalie with the most errors leading to goals on the Prem on a par with Sanchez.

He's been one of our biggest underperformers this season and the goalie staff have paid the price. I'm staggered how many people can't see that.

Yet he still managed to play for Spain when with us?
And doesn't anymore under the same goalie coach, and is reportedly being replaced at Chelsea this summer. My point being that Roberts started this trend of our goalkeepers' form nosediving and Stern has continued it.

Stockdale the only exception to that rule, he started pretty dreadfully and then became a key part of our promotion win*

*even if he did cost us the title in the last minute. Shudder.

Disagree.
Roberts improved Sanchez, the fact that Sanchez hasn’t easily adapted with his feet, has little to do with pure goalkeeping ability.

Roberts is a good, well-regarded coach in the game.
Chelsea also sacked Potch and Tuchel, I wouldn’t say they are renowned for making great decisions.

Just used exactly that word (ruthless) in a private message about it. Personal impacts aside, actually good to see. Relentlessly looking for anywhere things can be improved I hope.
Whilst I wouldn't disagree with the gist of your post, Stern first joined us in January 2022 and signed a new long-term deal in August 2024 (at which point David Weir was quoted on the Albion website as saying "Jack ... has become an important and valued member of the coaching set up. His professionalism and his dedication to his craft we see every day, and we are delighted he has signed this new contract.").

I'd be interested to know what changed in the last 9 months (for someone who had already been at the club for two-and-a-half years).

I always wonder what a goalkeeping coach does to keep things fresh.

"So on Monday was practice catching the ball and making saves, Tuesday is a light session of ball saving and aerial gatherings, wednesday is goal denial and air to hand transitions, Thursday we start with a little bit of a saving and catching drill and Friday is pizza"
Like most things at an EPL club the jobs are much bigger than we realise. Suspect the goalkeeping coaches receive and use info from the analysts about opposition keepers, tactics, styles of play, etc, are expected to set out and monitor development plans for ALL keepers at the club, monitor performance of on loan keepers, assess and recommend potential signings, etc, etc but most of all maintain a good and professional relationship with the Head Coach. Number one job is to stop the ball going in our net for the long term.

My apologies. I forgot Roberts had left before the Sanchez (Albion) decline kicked in. Although he has a more strategic "head of goalkeeping" role at Chelsea now rather than coaching their keepers on a daily basis. But I think a lot of the hype stems like everyone else at Albion has been hyped up big time in the media. I am not sure there's that much evidence of him being that amazing.

Head of Goalkeeping is a promotion from First Team Goalkeeper Coach.

I wonder if the simplest answer here might be the truth. Knoop, as per the statement wanted to return to Germany, and Jack got offered a new job elsewhere.
Probably
