Knight content at Albion
Tuesday, 06 January 2004
Brighton striker Leon Knight has insisted he is happy at the Withdean Stadium and is not actively seeking an improved contract.
The former Chelsea and Huddersfield hit-man has bagged 17 goals in an impressive first term for The Gulls, and has ably stepped into the shoes of Bobby Zamora who departed Albion for Tottenham during the summer.
Knight is happy with life at Brighton, and with two years remaining on his current deal is not yet looking to discuss new terms.
"If the option arose to extend then we will look at the situation but nothing has come up yet," stated the 21-year-old.
"I have got a two-year contract and that is basically it.
"I am happy here and when they are ready to talk I am ready to talk.
"I'm not saying I want a new contract. I've signed for two years and I'm here for two years.
"If it happens we'll talk about it but we'll have to wait and see."
