Kirsten turns Sussex down

South African Test batsman Gary Kirsten last night ruled out a move to county champions Sussex. "I've had a couple of very attractive business offers outside the game," he said. "I was very flattered and seriously interested in a season of county cricket at the end of my career and I know I might always have a slight regret."

Bummer, we're running out of time to find a decent player now.

Steve Waugh or Murray Goodwin then? I notice VVS Laxman isn't with any county side... What a signing that would be, i think we should start showing an interest!

Have just bumped into some kiddie who claimed to play for the Speedblitz blues (New South Wales One Day Side) he reckons that Steve Waugh has had an attractive offert made from a County Side in the Uk. ****ing hope it's us!

It could well happen now.
