King was a tower of strength.

I personally think Scholes played well.

Yep, another fan here for Scholes contribution. Vassel was a good sub, but Heskey ? Never again Sven, please.

90 meaningless minutes of superiority.
how the F:censored: K does Heskey get in the England team every time

hes done NOTHING major with Liverpool this year
and the Owen/Heskey partnership has fallen flat on its arse

KING AND CAMBELL DID THEIR JOB. SO DID MIDFIELD, UNTIL THE SECOND HALF. OH WHY DO WE PLAY HOOF TO THE ROOF UNDER SWEN.

King had a terrific game as did Rooney .
Cole ,Campbell,Gerrard(until last minute)and Lampard were OK,the others were below their best but we still should not have lost:censored:

Thought Ledley had a very good game, just shaded in the second half (reluctant as I am to admit it) by the bloke next to him.
Add Rooney, and that's a triangle of our top performers.

Thought Scholes was one of our worst, to be honest. Defensively a liability, contributed next to nothing up front. Hardly noticed Lumpalard before his goal, which was well taken, and he strived hard in the second half without really dominating the midfield. We tended to hold France off at the edge of the penalty area, rather than further up the field.

Hope Gerrard doesn't get victimised (though this could be seen as a defeat forged in Liverpool past and present - Heskey, Gerrard, James. . .) Thought he roamed interestingly all over the place, without quite being the central lynchpin we're used to.

Would suggest changing the keeper, but was anxious enough for Ledley - don't think my heart could cope with worrying about a Spurs keeper every time a cross came in too!

Not a disaster to lose, just galling to lose in such circumstances. . .

Or should that be, "Gaul-ling". . . ???

Very true, all Barthez had to do was go the right way and he'd saved it - perfect for goalkeepers ... had to be high or low, utter crapshite:censored:

But King was outstanding, and it would be very harsh to drop him for someone arguably no better, and definetly slower. King and Rooney deserved the win, and I thought we had it when Kind blocked Sagnol's shot on 88

f*** IT!!!

I take it all back regarding King. He was class. Scholes fell apart in the second half, but I have no complaints with his first half performance.
