Kieron Dyer - A1 twat

Agreed he's got a turn of pace and close control, but he plays with his head down and gives the ball away too often.
Personally, I don't think he makes good / correct decisions at the right times.
And if he does that out wide where, generally, there is more room and time, how does he think he'll fare in centre mid?

Also, if he's as good as some (and he) think he is.... why did George Burley sell him when Ipswich had nurtured him?

Sven still seems to like him for some reason, and seems to think he will play anywhere.

From BBC

Eriksson is looking forward to seeing more of his squad in action.
He added: "In the second half I'd like to see Jermaine Jenas and Kieron Dyer, it's always good to have a look at different players.
"Dyer can play everywhere in the midfield and as a second striker and it's good to have a player like that in the squad.

He also likes Beckham to play 90 minutes, regardless of his fitness level?

To be honest I think he could be excellent under the right manager. He is very quick and can run at people but obviously has become somewhat addicted to the lifestyle and forgotten about what got him where he is, the football.

Rumour has it, that when playing away with England in a poor country, he grabbed wads of local currency, set it on fire, and waved it around in front of homeless peoples' faces. That's a rumour, mind. But wouldn't surprise me.

Urban myth.

Started with him supposedly throwing fivers on the floor in front of a barman. Has been exaggerated quite a bit since then.

Fore Sale: Keiron Dyer
Club: Newcastle united
Age: 25
Position: Midfield. But only if he's "in the mood"
Hailed in his younger years as a superstar in the making, Keiron Dyer has spectacularly underachieved in his 5 years at Newcastle Utd, as well as in his call-ups for England. Currently arguing with his manager (none other than Sir Bobby Robson, one of the most respected all time great football managers ever), ignoring tactical instructions, and even refusing to play in position. Apparently Keiron knows whats best, you see...

His (alledged) off-pitch activities involve group sex, making sexually explicit home videos, drink fuelled parties, and getting entangled in police investigatons into gang-rape, as well as spending his massively overpaid wages on fast cars (and then getting arrested for driving them too fast. duh) a ridiculous american Hum-Vee, and excessively tacky-yet-expensive jewelry in a desperate attempt to look like an east-end London crack dealer.

his mediocre (at best) Premiership stats speak for themselves -
99/00: 27 appearances (+3 sub) 3 goals
00/01: 25 appearances (+1 sub) 5 goals
01/02: 15 appearances (3 sub) 3 goals
02/03: 33 appearances (2 sub) 2 goals
03/04: 25 appearances (0 sub) 1 goal

This player is currently surplus to requirements at Newcastle, and generally annoying the hell out of the fans with his ungratefulness and laziness and poor attitude - and considering the number of other talented midfielders currently in the squad, needs to go as quickly as possible. Especially if theres a defender coming in as part of the deal....or perhaps a couple of cases of brown ale for Bellamy, Bowyer & the boys to get tanked up on before they go out to (alledgedly) hit women and Asian students....

Think he could be a very good footballer, but one of those eternally-injury-plagued players (no wonder Spurs wanted to sign him a couple of years back - sadly, the arthritic Gooner rejected him, plus Gareth Barry and Robbie Keane).
Attitude also a factor. Funny, though, how his value seemed to escalate ahead of the 2002 World Cup through his being out injured so long - perfect footballing example of "absence makes the heart grow fonder". Hype outweighed his abilities.

Anyone else think, though, that Freddie Shepherd deserves a bit of blame, by coming out so publicly with the certainty Bobby Robson's for the boot at the end of the season. Surely can only encourage players, who already have a sizeable age gap on the old boy, to start playing up.
Newcastle have an end-of-term feeling already, and the season's only just started.

* Edited from "Barry and Robbie Keane" to "Gareth Barry and Robbie Keane", in case you wondered whether I'd unearthed the lesser-known Barry Keane before even an enterprising Ireland manager. . .

There is only one club in the premiership that he wouldnt walk into Arsenal othefr than that he would be welcome in all of them except Newcastle who have an old man as manager who should retire gracefully instead of waiting to be kicked out at the end of the season. Good manager but past his sell by date.

This rumour goes with almost every footballer twat you've ever heard of.

It was Duncan Ferguson when I first heard it. Arguably the only ex-Premiership player who is/was an even bigger twat than Keiron Dyer. Oh and Dennis Wise of course.

More innocuous, really, but one of my favourite "Premiership prima donna" stories is Darren Anderton's alleged favourite chat-up line:

"Guess how much this watch cost. . ."
