Keown put on transfer list

Keown is on his way out of Leicester
Leicester have placed veteran defender Martin Keown on the transfer list.
But the Foxes denied sacking the 38-year-old after widespread reports that Keown had a bust-up with manager Micky Adams over the running of the team.

"Martin has been told he is free to leave the club on a free transfer," said a club spokesman.

No way.

With Mayo, Butters and Cullip in the team and El-Abd injured we need fit, young, pacy defenders, not a 38 year-old has-been.

Didn't he play up front for us in one of his two loan spells at the Albion?

He's definitely played in midfield and when he was a kid he was a winger....but come on, we don't need his type. Everything's fine.

Yes he did. Partnering Dean Saunders!

NO. End of story.

Do I need remind you of the scenes at last season's charity shield?

He doesn't fit in with the Albion collective

He would love Withdean though. Put some tyres on the tree's in the nature reserve and he would be like a pig in the proverbial.

Yeah, I remember that. Don't think he scored though. Not as regularly as AV anyway.

I remember going to the Goldstone and watching Saunders partner Keown who was on loan at the time. We had an injury crisis at the time. I am pretty sure Keown scored two or three goals.

He made his league debut with the Albion before returning to Arsenal reserves.

I was thinking of having him on a 2 month contract or something just to cover Cullips injury. But if you look at it,there is no way you could have Butters & Keown as the 2 centre backs - anyone with half a yard of space would piss all over us. Not a viable option IMHO.
