Come on Coppell, shit on Reading, you know you want to.

Think of all the pressure at the Madejski Stadium, that next emotional breakdown's just around the corner.

Expectations at Palace are so much lower, you can relax in the knowledge that however badly you do, their fans will still love you for eternity.

In an addition to an earlier story, Sky Sports are now reporting that Crystal Palace Football Club are embarking on a novel new management scheme, whereby the club will be run by a collective of some of the game's biggest names.

Palace chairman Simon (Nice Sunglasses) Jordan told fans are a press conference "this unique collective management plan illustrates what a forward thinking club we are, and brings together the knowledge and expertise of some great footballing names in the aim of taking Palace out of the 1st Division".

The new men in charge of the Eagles will be Stuart Gray (senior football director), Martin Hinshelwood (assistant football director), Glenn Hoddle (spiritual guru and sports psychologist), John Gregory (motivational coach), George Graham (finance director), Graham Rix (youth and football in the community officer), Bryan Robson (part time fitness coach and social events manager) and Alan Ball (relegation trauma counsellor).

Jordan announced "I fully expect this team of experts to guide us to promotion despite our poor start to the season, and rest assured I will not stop until they have. The players are overpaid and underperforming, and none of this is my fault. I continue to look forward to the end of season celebrations".

The new team will take their first training session tomorrow before preparing for their debut match against Reading, ironically managed by the man who led Palace's arch rivals Brighton to relegation last season.

Steve Coppell has emerged as favourite for the Crystal Palace manager's job following the sacking of Steve Kember.

Kember was axed after a disastrous run of only one win in 13 games which has seen the Eagles slump to 20th in Division 1 after winning their first three league games.

Oldham Athletic manager Iain Dowie, who is a former Palace player, and former Wycombe Wanderers boss Lawrie Sanchez have already been mooted as possible contenders for the Selhurst Park hotseat.

But we understand Eagles legend Coppell and chairman Simon Jordan are sensationally ready to bury the hatchet, with Coppell returning to South London for his fifth spell in charge.

The surprise move would mean Palace paying compensation to Reading for Coppell, who moved to the Madejski Stadium from Brighton & Hove Albion on a two-year contract only last month.

Jordan is prepared to accept the financial consequences of a swoop for Coppell as the move would be popular with Eagles fans.

A source close to Coppell said he would relish the challenge of keeping Palace in Division 1, rather than the less likely prospect of taking mid-table Reading into the play-offs or better this season.

:lolol: Nice one! If you don't mind, I'm going to post this on another board...
