Use Captain Sensibles Riot on Eastbourne Pier ? Just read this

Unfortunately, not of all of Eastbourne Pier’s musical connections have been such happy ones. In 1991, erstwhile Damned punk rocker ‘Captain’ Sensible released the almost criminally-irresponsible ‘Riot on Eastbourne Pier’. What an earth was Sensible thinking? Admittedly, it’s unlikely that anyone would be persuaded to start such a riot simply by listening to Sensible’s effort; however, the concern is that someone already pre-disposed to this type of activity may be pushed ‘over the edge’, and indeed, may subsequently use Sensible’s recording as some sort of twisted defence for their deranged actions. To date this has not happened, but Eastbourne Pier continues to live under a dark cloud. Thanks, Captain

Music was probably ok, I paid little attention to it to be fair. But did anyone else hear that "Tiger Tiger, this is our den" song or something along those lines before the team came out? I think if I was a Hull fan I'd be mortified with embarassment.

It was the poem Tiger Tiger burning bright (William Blake)

Agree the music was good, I remember Jam, Verve, Oasis and U2 plus a few others. But hated their compare. When we're at Falmer I hope we don't have to try and generate an atmosphere by cheering each stand in turn. Only for them to be quiet as a mouse for 90 minutes. :lolol:

Well now I feel stupid, especially having done English Lit A Level.

I knew it was the poem at the time but I commented to Bakesy that I thought it was Rudyard Kipling (I've looked it up since) :dunce:

Music selection was pretty good, I remember Ipswich being pretty good too for 80s and 90s dance music! I would be more embarrassed as a big tough Hull City fan singing 'Cant stop falling in love with you'!

I tried to post yesterday but had problems. I found the music from the PA system at the KC far too loud, is this done deliberately to annoy away supporters? I noticed that we only started singing about three minutes before the match kicked off, normally there is more atmosphere in the 30 minutes beforehand. I found it funny that the announcer was tying everything to a sponsor - getting people in the various stands to make a noise for a minute and then nothing for the next 90 , apart from those Hull "supporters" standing up to the left of us. It is harder to sing when you are seated, my son and I stood up occasionally for "Stand up if you want Falmer" as we were near the back , also when people in front of us stood up and we couldn't see but had no hassle from the stewards even though we were quite near to the "ejection incident". What surprised me was the fact the control room was just behind us and if they wanted everybody to sit at all times why didn't they get the stewards in the East stand to get the fans sitting down there, so then there would have been no argument from Albion fans.

I wondered about the Health and Safety aspect of the volume level as it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation with Emily's Mum seated immediately behind me.

Good music but too loud.
You really are a set of whinging knobs . Everyone wants a stadium like ours. But all you get is the musics too loud, it's too commercial the stewards are to rough. If you do get Falmer(and i hope you do) Do you think it will be like the tellietubby shite you have now?. Get a grip.

Thats football my friends, Its all about money these days as sad as it is.:shootself

What has money got to do with the volume of the pa?
One of you own fans has said the pa isn't that good because there are areas in the stadium where it cannot be heard at all (seagulls.co.uk msg board)

State of the art?

f*** off - I couldn't give a shit about Hull's PA system - Just made a passing commenting agreeing that it was loud in a thread about it on a Brighton board. Piss off.
