The Indie music was excellent (I'm biased as that's my favourite type of music), but the whole thing was a little too commercial for my liking, as I said on the game rating thread earlier. Everything sponsored by this, that and the other. It's a football game, for goodness's sake, not a radio commercial. I know you can say that's the future and we have to get used to it, but I think people will tire of it before long. It's the same as every High Street having the same shops (the western part of Hull City Centre was no exception), and nearly every pub selling the same overpriced, mass market drinks.

When we get to Falmer can the council please impose a covenant that bans us from ever playing the following records before, during or after matches:

1. Song 2 by Blur
2. We Will Rock You by Queen
3. We Are the Champions by Queen
4. Anything else ever recorded by Queen
5. Ready to Go by Republica
6. Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams
7. Who By Fire by Leonard Cohen (good song but can't see how it would get the crowd going frankly)

They can play "We are the Champions" at the end of every season as far as I'm concerned.

Are people so middle class or 'wooden' (same thing really) that we have to have music at games to make a atmosphere?
Go to Eastbourne Borough and you will know what awful music is.

Ali, our PA man, was up to his usual tricks before the recent Leeds game at Ninian Park. Shortly before the two teams came out he played 'I Predict A Riot' by the Kaiser Chiefs.

He didn't play 'YMCA' or anything else by the Village People. He promised me faithfully he wouldn't, and stuck to it. But he did play 'Good Old Sussex By The Sea' and 'Alive And Kicking' in your honour. Along with Python's 'Lumberjack Song' and 'Sit On My Face And Tell Me That You Love Me.'

I really like the set-up at Borough but they made a big mistake dropping GOSBTS in favour of I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside.

If they were worried about having the same theme tune as Brighton they could have opted for the obvious Riot on Eastbourne Pier by Captain Sensible.
