Me & Daisy are going to spend a week in Jerez in October. How far is it from there? Would like to check it out.

It's quite pathetic really. I went past a florist called 'Kuipers' in Brussels, and need to keep up my Albion-related establishment places-I-have-visited type thing.

TLO - 31 miles, pretty well due east. Go to Arcos and turn right. Nothing special as a bar, just a good name for Albion fans. The area is beautiful though, undiscovered and uncrowded.

I've been to the Seagulls Bar in Bournemouth. And sometimes I drink in the ALBION.

Can any of your readers beat that ?

Anyone been to see Zamora FC in Spain? I think we were called something similar for a spell in 2002.

I think Zamora is the name of a variety of Spanish Wine or Wine Grape

Ooh, so have I.
And I got ARSEHOLED in the Cricketers last night watching Chelsea. Although that bears no relation to this thread, I somehow felt compelled to inform you.

There is a Zamora bar in Barcelona as well. was shut when I walked past. Stopped for a photo though.

Unfortunately, Zamora was a legendary goalkeeper for Barca, so it seems unlikely to be a tribute to Brighton's finest.
Roz and I stayed at a hotel just round the corner from this particular Bar Zamora. It tended to be open very late at night and most of its customers were transvestite prostitutes.

:glare:

Ricardo Zamora ("el divino") was indeed a great goalkeeper, arguably the best goalkeeper the world has ever seen - and very high in anyone's league table of quality cognac drinkers.

He played for Espanyol, Barcelona and Real Madrid. There is a statue of him in the Nou Camp museum.

He played for Spain against England in 1938, if my memory going back that far serves me correctly.

When i moved to Nottingham to Uni there was a pub on my road (about 20 seconds walk from my door) called the Albion.

When my mate went to Uni in London he moved to Peckham and his local was also called the Albion.

Nice.

There are numerous Pubs in Melbourne call The Albion, in fact MASS (Melbourne Albion Supporters Syndicate) meet at the one in South Melbourne from time to time to celebrate championships and the like.

There is also a suburb of Melbourne called Albion and of course there is the suburb of Brighton, one of the more up market areas of town! No Hove I'm affraid but in Country Victoria (not too far down the road) there are the towns of Shoreham and Hastings.

I wonder where those earlier settlers hailed from!?! ???

There is also a Croydon unfortunately, but to appraciate the good there has to be the bad. Mind you it's a damn sight better than the Sarff London one!:lolol:

I have an authenticated report (somebody sent me the pictures for ID) that somebody bought a Prawn Curry in Asdas and it included a baby octopus (it was dead) complete with beak.

At which football ground do the prawns sandwiches contain grasshoppers instead?
