el abd has done very very well, but he is no mcshane, would have him in every day

People keep going on about our strikers are not good enough, but from what i saw today the service they got wasn't very good. We have now conceded three penalties in three games, this is worrying. I think McGhee needs to get a leftback for the team as his priority in the transfer window. We need to build from the back, we are leaking very waek goals now. When we went down to ten men today we just collapsed. I have seen Albion sides go down to ten before and hold out against sides like Reading. It is a bit of a joke that we have a right sided midfielder at left back!

Why not put McShane at centre with Butters and El-Abd at Left Back?

The we put Reid in Center Midfield for Oatway.

Problem solved!

El-Abd, Mcshane, Butters, Mayo for me. One half of that defence is mobile the other is experienced, all are strong. All proper defenders who can concentrate on defending whilst the wingers are allowed to be creative. If I was MM I would play this defence and tell them to hold their positions and get stuck in. Stick Nicolas in with Hammond, give them time to develop a partnership as they are both talented players who just need to impose themselves more on games. Then start with CKR and Leon up front. If it looks to light weight whoever is playing the worst gets hauled off for someone with a bit of physical presence like McPhee or McCammon.

I would like to see Knight dropped...

into a more creative midfield role! He doesn't score enough goals but has great ability!!

I think he could do something there on the left and we push Frutos into Centre Midfield as he seems like he could do a much better job than Oatway.

Some of you don't like this but Big Mac will be starting at Hull, if not QPR as we have no one else.

Available left backs Championship standard queueing up to join an athletics track training in a muddy university field wanting little money.

Answers on a postcard to Mark McGhee c/o Brighton & Hove Albion.

Trust me.we put good balls into the box its just no-one goes for them!Dont get me wrong,Leon and Kazim upfront is a good partnership but leon's always jumping for the long balls forward and isn't winning the cos of his height. We need to start with small and tall upfront only Kaz needs to win headers. Its essential.

Forget Championship standard - just a left-back full-stop would do. That said, how much would Lincoln want for Paul Mayo?

I'm still trying to work out what we were trying to achieve by playing five across the back, only two and a half of which are actual defenders (Butters, El-Abd, Elphick technically is a defender but looked out of his depth). I think we would of lost whatever team we played but by surrendoring the innitiative like this we may as well of turned up, kicked off, lowered our shorts and bent over.

Still roll on Friday three points with the return of Big Mac

Personally, I would put Butters, El-Abd and McShane as centre, with Frutos and Reid as wing backs. Our strength is our attacking play at present. Stick Carole in the centre of mid with Hammond and Oatway, with Knight and CKR upfront.
