I am in the carpet and flooring trade as a retailer. Carpet moth is a massive problem at the moment. They seem to be spreading like wildfire. They like dark corners or under wooden furniture. We have found that they are pretty immune to most pesticides now. The only real way to get rid is to get rid of there food supply ie the carpet. Our carpet sales at the moment are probably about 80% manmade for this reason alone compared to about 50% a couple of years ago. The seem to be worse the nearer to the sea you get for some reason.
Yeah, we had them, had a pest controller spray the whole house and never really got rid of them. Unfortunately the only solution is to replace the carpet with a man made fibre carpet, even after doing this I still find the odd one or two moths flying around.
Borax mixed with salt, maybe some cayenne pepper thrown in.
Powder the room with it, let stay for a few hours before vaccuuming.
The residue left behind will dry out any bug from a carpet, inclding fleas mites ticks roaches....whatever.
Or throw out your carpet like this 'expert' suggests, that'll work
