What a great atmosphere, it was like a cup tie at the end!

We were a bit jammy with the goal but after Chippy got sent off (rightly) for a two footed lunge, we seemed really to be up for it against a very average Milwall side.

Player ratings for me:

FDM 6 Not much to do, but some bad kicking. Suspect made a fantastic save but couldn't quite see what happened!

El Abd 7 Committed display looked assured, prefer him in the middle but did a good job. Silly to get booked with that knob D'Urso.

Santos 7 Really getting to like him, getting fitter, wins a lot of ball, and his experience showed.

Lynch 7 Continuation of the good work, supported Rents well and Mayo!

Rents 7 Good start, looked a little unsure at time and distributed the ball a little quickly, but really promising (replaced by Mayo afetr the break).

Cox 7 Neat footballer, small but nifty. Worked tirelessly.

Hammond 5 One goal mouth save, but just hasn't got it, lost the ball too often . Better than he has been recently though.

Reid 6 I thought a poor first half, misdirected passes and didn't push forward much. Looked a bit out of sorts today. Usually excellent.

Chippy 3. Stupid challenge that nearly cost us the game. I've seen him do those too often.

Revell 8 Hardest working on the pitch. Was shagged at the end. His close control when ball comes to him is not the best, and he didn't look like scoring, but you can see what these games mean to him.

Hart 7 Tireless and good usual Harty game.

Subs all did well.

I thought that was a shocking game, but what was most telling (and a few agreed with me in the pub afterwards) was the reaction of the players afterwards.

You'd think we'd won the league. :lolol:

FDM 8 - can't kick for shit, but best shot stopper outside the pre,

El Abd -7 solid, seemed to be getting slagged off a fair bit in the crowd mind

Santos - 8 heard shit things about him but VERY impressed, solid, no nonsense, good bargain

Lynch - 6 starting to believe his own hype? woeful distribution, and showing off a bit too much

Rents -5 Rubbish

Cox 7 - really promising, very direct

Hammond 4 a joke

Reid 6 average

Chippy 1 - TWAT

Revell 7 tryer, zero skill

Hart 7 worked hard

clapham, compare and contrast that with last week at Bristol City, at the end of that gam the players looked like they were just about to appear before a firing squad and somewhat reluctantly came across to applaud the fans. Mind you it should be remembered that some of our fans were singing "what a load of rubbish" at the time.

I've missed the last two games being tied up elsewhere for whatever reason.

I was with a West Ham supporting mate, who asked me "blimey, do your players always celebrate like that ?"

:lolol:

Great to see, great win, but not the greatest game.

Kuipers - what a bloke

Millwall are in trouble aren't there ?

I cannot guess what was going through Chippy's mind but that was a truly pornographic tackle. Seldom have I seen a more deserved Red.

Even the ref felt the need to lump him

That is precisely the reaction we want to see from the players, Wilkins has worked for a number of years with quite a few of them, sounds like they went out today to win for him.

We are back up to 11th in the table, if we get a good result against Bornemuff we could be pushing for a play-off position, not bad when you consider all the death, doom and gloom on NSC over the past couple of weeks.

The official club site says of Carpenter's 'tackle': "On first glance Carpenter didn't seem to make contact with the Millwall man, but Morais's reaction - and that of his team-mates, who surrounded Carpenter - did the Albion captain no favours." I mean, I admit to being one-eyed at times, but blaming the Millwall players for reacting like that to a leg breaker of a challenge is taking it to new levels.

We were poor but Millwall were dreadful. Considering they signed two players we were after amongst the 15 they signed close season that have a load of problems.

Kuipers 7 Couple of comedy kicks but a calming, steady performance, one very good smothering save in the second half

El Abd 7 Some excellent tackles
Santos 6 Millwall played to his strengths
Lynch 6 Nervous early on but grew in belief
Rents 5 Was targeted by Millwall and Wilkins did the right thing to take him out of the firing line

Reid 6 Not at his recent best but OK
Carpenter 4 Bad tackle
Hammond 6 Kept working, kept battling
Cox 8 Marvellous display, by far and away the best thing about this strange rollercoaster season so far

Hart 7 I thought a retun to form today
Revell 8 Symbolised our never say die spirit today, what a battler

Mayo 6 Had little to with Millwall self-destructing
Fraser 6 One crucial clearance, promising debut

spot on, but don't forget Kuipers' one handed tip onto the post near the end.

Kuipers 6 - Strong keeping, shocking kicking.

Rents 6 - Looks a neat footballer, but not the strongest physically.
Lynch 7 - Sound, excellent in flashes.
Santos 7 - Solid, hard to beat.
El Abd 7 - Some mistakes, but also some crucial tackles.

Cox 7 - Lively, neat passing.

Reid 6 - Quieter than usual, but did a decent job.

Hart 7 - Worked hard all game.
Revell 7 - Ditto Hart, although lacked composure at times.

Mayo 7, Fraser 7.
