Sussex but not by the sea
It should be (yet another) lesson to deluded owners of promoted teams not to panic and change what was working for "insert *name* here" because your Championship standard squad are not safe after 15 games and then wonder why that makes matters even worse, Soton could have appointed Klopp and they were still going down. Leicester is exactly the same, if not worse as they were actually doing 'OK'.

West Ham is a different example, an EPL level squad massively underperforming warrants a change, even then you need to get the right person in..........

Pointless appointment.

They were already dead when he took over. Perfect moment to make a long term appointment that could focus less on results. But no, lets do some CPR at the funeral instead, seems sensible.

As an aside, this means our very own ex U21 coach Simon Rusk will be a Premier League manager unless they bring in his replacement sharpish.

Did Rusk get any games in the period between Martin and Juric?

Yeah, but a good manager could at least make you look somewhat competitive even if squad is not good enough.

I was surprised when they hired Juric especially considering he never coached outside of Italy. It also doesn't look good when you are sacked twice in 6 months. He lasted less than two months at Roma earlier in the season.10 points from 8 games is a midtable form (but clearly not good enough for a club that invested a lot in summer and had CL inspirations before the season) and they were just four points above the relegation zone.

Then they brought Ranieri out of retirement and with basically the same team Roma is now unbeaten since December, have the best record in Serie A in 2025 (5 points more than Inter) and are only three points away from CL spots - they were 15 points behind 4th place when Ranieri took over.

Not that fussed about Juric, feel far more sorry for the decent hard-working ground-level staff they'll now have to inevitably lay off

Rusk reportedly the interim with Lallana as assistant.

Apparently Gary Lineker has done an interview special with Russell Martin for the Wednesday edition of The rest is football. Sounds like a good interview.
