Looks like these two one-time Brightonians are due in court in Indonesia on very serious narcotic charges. Will be news all over the world as the case develops.

I read in the Argus that Ponder was well known in Brighton,especially the North Laine,as a nightlife character,and that they were in the antiques game. No-one I know has ever heard of either of them.

I worked and spent a lot of time in the North Laine area just before we moved to Wales, so they could have been around after that time, my first thoughts when I read this was they might have been into house clearance or knocker boys which hardly makes them in the antiques game but the Argus tend to lump many trades together
my other half knew/knows many of the Antique dealers in the Brighton area as do I and we have never heard of them
