Anyone know anything about Julian Gray. Apparently we (CAFC) are looking closely at him with him playing a couple of pre season friendlies. All I know about him though is that he was released and Leeds lloked but could not afford. Anyone else know anything else/

Oscar Wilde wrote a story about a man who never aged. It was because he had a painting of himself in the attic that aged instead of him. When the painting was destroyed he aged overnight.

He was called Dorian Gray (now the humour has gone completely)

Leeds end Gray chase

Gray has been training with the Leeds squad
Leeds United have failed in their bid to sign Crystal Palace winger Julian Gray.
The 23-year old has been training with the Premiership side with a view to sealing a permanent move.

But Leeds boss Peter Reid revealed that his bid for Gray has been rejected by the Selhurst Park club.

"Unfortunately we cannot further that particular deal," Reid said.

"Palace have a valuation of Julian but so do we.

"He's a smashing player and we would have loved to have got him in," he added.

Gray is out-of-contract at Selhurst Park but would still command a fee if he moves because of his age.

On Saturday, Leeds were reported to have made a bid of £500,000 to secure the player's services.

But Palace chairman Simon Jordan is thought to want £750,000 for Gray, who signed from Arsenal three years ago.

Good player for 750k - shows how depressed the market has become.

Why do Palace want rid of him? I'd have thought they'd want to keep every good player they can get - they haven't got that many.

I think he wants out of Palace rather than the other way round. Can't blame the lad really.

He is not a bad little player. Though he played well against us at Smellhurst, to be honest a pack of the 6th Pevensey Beach Scout Cubs could have played us off the park that day.

p.s is it true you have 15mill to spend this year?

No not that much :nono: About 7 million apparently

We have so far spent 2.25 on Hermann Herairrdsson, 750k on Matt Holland (Bargain) and a free on Simon Royce, overall I think we can afford Gray
