Thanks for all your help people. I am really pissed off with Crown golfs increase at Cottesmore but do love the course. I will probably join either Wildwood (27 holes ) or Slinfold (18). Thanks agian TK.

Talking of golf courses, has anyone played Seaford Head? The 18th tee has to be the best view from a golf course in person or on TV that I've ever seen. Absolutley breathtaking. Have to play there again soon.

It must be the best municipal course in Sussex. Seaford golf club is a fine course too but a bit expensive.

I am a member at Cottesmore Golf Club between Horsham and Pease Pottage, and have been for a few years now. They were owned by American Golf and last year were aquired By Crown golf. They have put the renewal fee up this year by 20% from £870 to £1040. This increase is way above the normal of about 2-3% and has pissed me and a number of members right off. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good golf club to join at a reasonable price - Thanks.

cottesmore is an ok coarse,
around that area, tilgate is not too bad and i like hassocks too

Hill Barn in Worthing is a nice course these days. Under new management, had a few quid spent on it. Nowhere near as busy as it used to get.

Come to Lingfield - it's a testing course, has a variety of holes and friendly members (ooh er missus) - and membership of the Racecourse is included in the Golf membership.
