Feel for the guy, completely stand by him on this. The militant cancel culture are going too far on a lot of issues at the minute, the fact he has Arabic singers working with Dudu Tassa should be seen as a positive.

This cancelling surely going against these free Palestine idiots usual beliefs ie freedom of religion, expression, arts, culture. And they wonder why the right has made so many gains recently.

to be frank to be appalled by this and not the ongoing ethic cleansing in Gaza is a choice and not a good one

'free Palestine idiots' smh.
With respect, we used to be able to debate exactly that on NSC until one of the "other team" decided to go to the police and local press. Now we're a bit more restricted and it means there's a chance that this thread, too, could go.

So the issue of censorship is still very much worth debating. There are too many people around today who want to cancel people and end careers because they don't like their message, and equally a large number of people who are defending 'free speech' when what they actually mean is 'speech I agree with' (hello Nigel and Kemi).

I'm no fan of what Israel are doing, far from it, but artistic freedom and the right to free expression are key to a civil society and, perhaps, preventing that society from disintegrating. Censoring the arts is fascist and fascists from both the left and right have a history of doing it.

Spot on.
I wait expectantly for the massive petition to allow their free speech... oh

I was thinking about whether there would have been any concerns about our matches when we had both Beram Kayal and Tomer Hemed in the team at the same time. Personally, I would have thought that would be an incredibly positive message, but there are always maniacs out there with their own agendas.
I can guarantee that there would have been a vocal minority booing one or the other.

What has happened to " I don't agree with your viewpoint but I will defend your right to say it until my dying day"?
That changed when there became only two viewpoints- the right one and the wrong one. Apparently.

& suddenly *everyone* was on the right side of history, or not.
No in-betweens or pesky grey areas.
Or debate
Yep. Choose a side, and argue that point even if proved beyond any reasonable doubt that it is wrong. Weakness is to change your mind on something.

Is it just the UK and US that has gone like this do you think? It feels like the rest of the world isn't as ridiculous.

I am appalled by what’s going on and really have a dislike for Israel because of it, but that’s not their entire populous fault, so I don’t hate on all Israeli’s, it is a massive assumption on your part there.

I am finding there are aspects of the free Palestine movement whom don’t respect the opinions of others.

Radiohead have done nothing wrong, he is an artist expressing his art, freedom if speech? Apparently not if you are friends or family with Israeli citizens.

Wish I put it as this, spot on,

We are the worst for it, as is US.
