Found myself standing next to him at the D2 chasmpionship parade in Grand Avenue once, and had a chat about the season (and that legendary goal at Anfield). Absolutely top bloke.

He also seemed to agree with everything, even contradictory points.

Still a legend though.

I think bias commentating is brilliant. If The Argus were a bit more like that then more people would read it. In Newcastle the match reports are all "we came close to scoring" etc which I think is superb.

Johnnie byrne is indeed a legend!!

I wonder if Richy Reynolds has realised yet that he's shagging Nicky Keig Shevlin?!?

Johnny Byrne is my preferred pundit on SCR radio. He doesn't seem to do the away matches though?

Can we ring into SCR and ask him a question now?

I have done this in the past and I would recommend asking him a football question?

I asked him ( along time ago) if he thought it was OK to play a right footed player on the left wing?

He replied that Jackie Charlton asked him to play that position for or Ireland?

Better than the usual fare on the radio.

Now, who would be the first to ask Norman Gall, what it feels like to score a goal?
