Just been queuing for the past half hour to get tickets for John Bishop at the Bournemouth International Centre, lucky enough to get one of the last few tickets.

:clap2:

What does NSC think of him?? I loved his recent BBC show and hope his live show is as funny as that.

:lolol:

Saw him live in Portsmouth, very good. Don't be a student, don't sit in the front row and don't think you can out-heckle him. He destroyed people! He tells some excellent stories and will harp on about the time he played for Liverpool. I would go and see him again, no problem.

Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, f***ing freezing, people sat in rows on school chairs wearing their coats - not the easiest room to win!

Brighton Centre 7th Feb. I'll be there.
Think he's on at the Dome during the Comedy Fest too.

Just far enough away from LDC
Brighton Centre 7th Feb. I'll be there.
Think he's on at the Dome during the Comedy Fest too.

There are a few comedians I would pay to see at the moment but Al Murray, Lee Mack, Frankie Boyle and him are probably the ones I would.

His stand up is pretty good although I thought his TV show was a bit pants

I like John Bishop, but for me the best of the newer ones is Rhod Gilbert.

He's one of the rarest of creatures - a funny Scouser.

To me he's the same as Al Murray, Lee Evans, Peter Kay and Russel Howard, massively popular but i've never thought they were remotely funny

The funniest thing I saw on Russell Howard's series wasn't the comedian himself but the montage of Susannah Reid's co-presenter chuking a sneaky peek at her tits a dozen times in one BBC Breakfast Show.

Excellent on Fighting Talk, and very interesting when interviewed by Danny Baker.

Not a bad evening out and the sort of comedian who will make people laugh without being offensive.

Went to see Frankie Boyle the other night. Brilliant set. Offensive but equally packed with intelligent observations.

I don't understand Rhod Gilbert's popularity either. Although calling his show'Rhod Gilbert and the cat that looked like Nicholas Lindhurst' is funny. If only because it makes me think of a moggy dressed in a 1940s trench coat a la Goodnight Sweetheart.
